When to choose urgent care
Urgent care treats problems that need prompt attention but aren't life-threatening: sprains, minor cuts, fevers, flu, ear and sinus infections, rashes and UTIs. Most clinics take walk-ins, and a visit usually costs far less than the ER.
When to go to the ER
Call 911 or go to the emergency room for chest pain, trouble breathing, stroke symptoms, severe bleeding, a serious head injury, or any life-threatening emergency.
